During the first 12 years of his energy career Michael worked directly for several of the largest energy retailers in North America including EPCOR, Direct Energy Business Services, CEG Energy and Hudson Energy (Just Energy). While working for the energy retailers he eventually became responsible for the P/L for the entire province and managed over $400M in operations. He was directly responsible for all sales teams, marketing operations, energy contract pricing models, product structuring departments (contracts), credit/risk departments, and trading desk operations.
15 years ago he opened up Energy Engine in response to confused and frustrated customers who wanted genuine independent, unbiased and transparent advice and representation. He has led the growth of Energy Engine into becoming the industry's most trusted energy consulting firm, helping over 1000 business clients in over 5000 locations save in excess of $150M in unnecessary energy costs.

During her first 15 years of her career Marilyn worked at Direct Energy Business Services, CEG Energy, Nexen Energy, and TransAlta. She has one of the longest track records of success in AB helping business customers from all segments including retail, property management, manufacturing and large industrial.
For the past 7 years at Energy Engine she has helped several hundred client's get the lowest energy rates while optimizing their energy programs.

Originally from Saskatoon, Don brings a strong work ethic shaped by his upbringing on a family farm. After moving to Edmonton in 1983 to study at Grant MacEwan University, he continued his education at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, where he earned his Honours degree in Commerce with a major in Sports Administration in 1992.
Beginning his sales career with Sprint Canada in 1995, Don has dedicated over 30 years to outside sales, with a significant portion of his expertise in the energy sector. He joined Direct Energy Business Services in 2007 and transitioned to Energy Engine in September 2019.

In 2022 Jacob founded a residential service company called Driveway Pro Sealers and is currently enrolled in the Commerce Faculty at the University of Alberta. In his current role as a Commercial Energy Analyst he is responsible for advising commercial clients on energy procurement strategies, negotiating competitive electricity and natural gas contracts, and delivering data-driven insights to reduce energy spend and manage price risk.

Ella is an ambitious, creative, and dynamic leader who supports developing and executing our company's marketing strategy. She spearheads our brand development by helping to strengthen client relationships and generate interest through digital and direct outreach strategies. Ella also conducts market research to support pricing, positioning, and strategic planning by applying SEO and digital marketing principles to improve visibility and online performance.

The glue that binds the office together.
Raman directly manages dozens of business clients' energy requirements and has deep knowledge in the property management energy segment. Her primary office duties include promoting customer satisfaction, handling administrative tasks, and collaborating with senior sales staff on key accounts. She is responsible for data collection, and internal / external support.

Gladys arranges for the creation and distribution of company records and supporting documents. Her vast experience in accounting makes her a tremendous asset as she has strong problem solving and organization skills. She specializes in AP/AR and general administrative duties.

Kel is an MBA, CPA, and CMA professional with an extensive background in cross-border acquisitions, divestitures, equity raising, and debt financing. Kel joined both VWS and Canadian Mat Systems Inc. as the CFO in January 2020. Previously, Kel served as the CFO of Kodiak Services Partnership, a full-service wireline company, where he oversaw finances in functions across Canada, USA, and South America, as well as spearheaded their Mexico expansion. He has had experience with other organizations in the Middle East and North Africa.

30 years experience in marketing, communications and consultation working with a range of private and public sector industries including the utility sector for over a decade. Carol’s expertise is strategic communications planning to ensure that an organization’s communication and engagement efforts are aligned with business goals, engage stakeholders, and deliver results. Being passionate in servicing customers ensures that she takes a proactive approach to communications to mitigate risks and achieve successful outcomes. Carol recently retired, is consulting on a part-time basis and has taken on a number of volunteer leadership roles in her community.

Brandon has a strong history in the energy sector. As Sales Manager for Direct Energy Business Services, Brandon was instrumental in championing Direct Energy’s start-up efforts during their 2002 acquisition of the ATCO GAS customer retail base. While managing Direct Energy’s Commercial and Industrial energy sales team he was responsible for generating an impressive $250,000,000 in commercial energy sales. In 2006, after completing the Corporate Executive Program at the University of Alberta, Brandon transitioned to Titan Construction in the capacity of General Manager. He was soon promoted to President and CEO of the firm after demonstrating his unique ability to effectively lead a strategic turnaround. Under Brandon’s continued leadership Titan Construction has continued to build a formidable reputation as one of Edmonton’s finest disaster restoration companies.

Mark is responsible for sourcing and managing infrastructure investments globally. He has been with AIMCo since 2015. Prior to joining AIMCo he served in various financial and commercial roles for 14 years in Canada and the UK for Nexen, a global oil and gas exploration and production company. Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta, an MBA from Cambridge University and is a CFA Charterholder.
